Hope Leaders: Building Trust between Scientists and Community
$45K Finalists

Hope Leaders is a two-year program, facilitated by the University of Illinois Cancer Center. Community-based organizations and scientists learn from each other.  Both scientists and organizations go through a competitive peer review application process.

Community organizations are empowered to communicate the health needs of the communities directly to researchers; return to their communities and disseminate information about cancer research discoveries and health resources; and build trust for the cancer research infrastructure in traditionally underserved communities.
